Little Rock

Soooo, things got worse.

Location: Little Rock

Current Events:

   The party wakes up and waits for Mr. H and he doesn’t show on time.  He’s 20 minites late and they go to investigate.  They hear the following.

 

Mr. T:  I don’t care.  You didn’t clear it with the boss.  Did you show this kid anything?

Mr. H:  No.  He’s just a kid.  He has nothing to do with this.

Mr. T:  Is he smart?  If he starts poking his nose where it isn’t wanted . . .

Mr. H:  You’re not going to anywhere near that boy.

Mr. T:  Offly defencive.  makes me wonder . . .

Long pause

Mr. T:  Just remember you’re expendable, the kid and his friends more so.  I wouldn’t get too attached.

Mr. H:  I’m not that expendable.  I’ve keep a few plans hidden.  I’m sick and tired of your threats.  You’ll have to go threw me to get to the boy.  I know you want to kill me, but you’re not allowed too.  So unless you want to have to explain why you killed an asset without getting any valid information out on me you’re just going to have to live with it.  Now get out.  We’re done here.

 

They party then worked on the forge and set everything up.  Mr. Trollmen dropped by and had a chat with group and it was pretty normal. The group then when to eat and found a quiet restaurant.  Mr. H let slip that he didn’t want to work, but Hellstrom had something over him that kept him working.  And that there were three people total that are working for him.  Dr Ogden, Mr. H and ?

     All of the demonstrations when perfectly and there was a large crowd for the last two. The group then tried to leave hastily on Hendrickson's queue.  As they all tried to run they caught off guard by Dr. Ogden.  She was using Jared to attack to group.  A fight ensued and the group did make it out of the small city.  Jude has a gut shot wound and is in need of a doc.

Little Rock

Well, we made it.

Location: Little Rock

Current Events:

    The party arrived in the small city of Little Rock.  It’s busy because of the display of the new type of forge.  Apparently there has been a big advertising campaign.  The group decide to spend a night or two in an expensive hotel.  The take baths.  Kasy was almost discovered to be a girl.  

     There was a fancy dinner and they met up with Mark Hendrickson, you know the inventor.  The group gets to see Mr. Trollmen.  Kasy and Mr. H talk about the forge and the group makes plans to meet up with him early in the morning.

Location: Vallyfeild

Current Events:

  The party headed out and had a fairly uneventful journey.  Jude and Elijah had a dream encounter with a skeletal figure.  They then come across a small town with an abundance of food and very friendly people, Vallyfeild.  They also bump into Ron Ron.  Things get a little odd when they try to leave early and end up finding out they are the next meal.  They escape the town and are very close to Little Rock.

Huntwick Mines

Yup, She's crazy.

Location: Huntwick

Current Events:

Armed with flash powder, mirrors, lamps and two comrades Guss and Jeff the group descended into the mines.  As they passed through the tunnels they saw patterns in the rock of horrific figures climbing towards the surface.  They then encountered animated corpses with large heavy metal collars.  They were mining the Ghost Rock slowly and crying and they rotted.

They met Jared who took them to meet Dr. Ogden.  She was the one controlling the dead.   At first the party didn’t know if she was doing this against her will or not.  She had the tommyknocker in a cage a then turned it against the party.

The party beat the creature and then knocked Dr. Ogden out cold.  Jared said he would be looking after her and would taker her somewhere Hellstromme wouldn’t find her.  The party then headed to town and collected their rewards.  Guss decided to part company and said his goodbyes.

Huntwick

More spooky dreams with Mr. Yucky

Location: Huntwick

Current Events:

     Jude wakes up to find that the girl is gone.  His stash is low and he's getting antsy.  The general store owner (Bob) knows of a guy (Ned) that likes to stockpile things and suggests that that’s the most likely place to find stuff.  Describing him as an “end of the world nut.”  Ned tells them about the Tommyknocker and they agree to get rid of it so Jude can get his fix. Sandra is promised gold coins, and Kasy is promised ghost rock.

     They go back to town to get supplies and Jude ends up taking a dose and blacking out.  He ends up having a weird dream the others check on supplies and horses.

Huntwick

Oh God. Why, Jude? WHY!

Location:  In route to Huntwick

Current Events:

The Indians tell them that they don’t like white men interfering with them and to ask then to leave and get back on the main trail.  Jeff, the stagecoach driver agreed and told them all about why they’re off the main trail.  The Indians aren’t happy about it, but said be sure to have someone deal with them(being the bandits) or we will.  They found bunnies, ate some and tried to save two the young ones.

The Jackalope turned out to be able to control its bad luck stuff and “spoke” with Jude.  The Jackalope tried to convey “its ok if they get to be pampered pets, but I’m following until I know they are safe”  Holly decided to release the young bunnies so they wouldn’t have to deal with the Jackalope. :(

     The party made it to their destination of the small backwoods(with no woods) town of Huntwick.  The town seems pretty barren.  The group rented three rooms, whisky, and rum.  There is a small general store/post office/barber and Sheriff's office.  They shared the rum with Jeff and later a doped up “working woman”.

     They all wake up and it’s a new day and a dumpy little town.  Jude has a dream in which he makes a pact to not interfere with his plans.  He is left with a single small boil on his wrist.

Making friends on the Trail

Location:  In route to Huntwick

Current Events:

      They party left in the morning.  Mr. Case didn’t take the trip to Little Rock.  They have a 6 day stage coach ride ahead of them, with a stop in town 3 days out.  It’s cramped and they are sitting on top of boxes and things.  The first day they evade bandits, and Jude feels a little rough around the edges so he takes a little extra Laudanum.  That night, after taking a long detour to try and avoid any more issues with the bandits, they encounter a Jackalope.  They are major bad luck.  They leave the camp in the middle of the night, only a few minutes after finished setting up, and make a new camp.  They set up there and Jude has a creepy ass dream.  

     The only parts that he remembers are pictures in his mind.  The first of a molten vat.  The next of a pus, boil and pock covered zombie-like creature looming over the shoulder of an older man who was writing at a desk in a dark room by himself.  They wake up to find that they still have bad luck and continue on.

      After lunch they have some more bad luck.  They head out and encounter 3 indians (that they see).

Vicksburg

Enter Justin Case

Location: Vicksburg

Current Events:

The group runs into Justin Case the next morning.  He offers them a job in finding out what Hellstromme is up to.  The party thinks this is a good idea.  Sandra likes the pay plus expenses.  Jude likes the job, but not the danger.  Kasey likes being able to work with Mark and learn to make cool stuff.

      The group now works for Justin Case, whatever group he works for.  They don’t know exactly who he works for.  When asked he says he’s a Texas ranger.  Kasy has told Yoseph that she will not be returning just yet.  He was not happy.  Sandra left the shipping company.  They were very surprised, but left on good terms.  Jude is happy to have a real job, but is still a scaredy cat.

Vicksburg

The Start of the Journey

Location: Vicksburg

Starting Events:

  • Mel’s character(s) came to Vicksburg to see a demonstration of a new forge.
  • Kesha’s character came, because Sandra had to deliver a shipment there.
  • Silvia’s character came because the brothel that Jude worked at burned down and had to move on. The S.S. Dusty was the first ship leaving.
  • All met and played cards with a Justin Case on the 5 day boat ride.
  • When they all got to town they heard of a lot of missing kids.
  • Sandra spoke to the town’s Marshal about the reward for finding information on them.  The Marsha said it would be ok if she helped investigate.
  • She found the other two waiting around and asked for their help.
  • Elijah said sure because the demo hadn’t started yet.
  • Jude said sure because he wanted money.
  • They asked around, made some good rolls and found that the culprit was some kind of vicious man eating monster.
  • When they go to inform the Marshal he knows and has his deputies ready to ride out and kill it.
  • The three PC’s are left in charge of keeping order in town.
  • It takes longer than expected.  The group makes arrangements with the towns folk and they go out to look for them.They find one almost dead and with his last breath he says where the monster is and what it attacks like.
  • The group set a trap and waited.  Elijah used Ghost rock to make a cage making it very strong.  The trap works.
  • They examine its den and find a journal.  It explains that the Catamount was being held here on orders from Hellstromme Industries and got loose.
  • They barely made it to town. The Catamount’s claws almost cut threw the chains.
  • The Vicksburg folk killed it and thanked the group for it.  The whole town wanted to buy them drinks.
  • Mark(demonstrator of the new forge) had previously hired the group to assist in the demonstration.  The group did and it was a success.  They also found parts for a crazy big cannon barrel of some kind from Hellstromme Industries.  Apparently the backer of the forge and employer of Mark.Mark was offered a really good deal for his work and he turned it down.
  • The group noticed that something was up about that.  The group got him drunk to find out what his issue was.

    • The groups suspicions of something shady going on at Hellstromme Ind. was correct.The group learns that Professor Hellstromme’s enforcer Mr. (Hank*) Trollmen and some unknown entity is what's keeping him and two other experts in line and helping Hellstromme.
    • The two other experts are Doctor Marie Ogden (chemistry) The last session ended with this info and Mark being very very drunk.
  • The characters are still at the bar.
